Oyster Bay Seafood Cafe in Lawrenceville

We went to Oyster Bay Cafe in downtown Lawrenceville. ordered a few different things and shared most of it.
1. oysters

2. smoked fish dip
3. she crab soup
4. grouper sandwich and some fries with way too much seasoning on them

Verdict:
Not bad. Not awesome beach tier food, but not bad for downtown L'ville. My only real complaint was that the grouper was a little thin. I like thick ass grouper sandwiches.

  1. The crab cakes are similar to Dominick's, but smaller and higher priced. The oysters are good - but small. Rest of food is edible, but nothing to write home about, and overpriced for what it is. Atmosphere is okay, as long as you don't mind eating in decor that resembles a 1950's auto service garage. Service is fairly friendly and prompt, except the young man who is normally the bartender -- he has a tendency to be judgmental regarding whether or not you appear intoxicated and will take possession of anything of yours on the bar (cell phone, car keys, cigarettes, etc.) to keep you from leaving until he deems you to be be sober enough to drive (and will force you to drink a copious amount of water, which does nothing to sober you up) -- "so you won't get stopped for dui on the way home, for the good of the restaurant's reputation..." however, he should be noted as an expert on this matter since he was charged with DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane on 09/08/2011, according to the Gwinnett Police Docket Book.
