Mo's Pizza

Mo's Pizza never lets me down. Their lunch special: Half Greek Salad, Slice of Pizza and Drink for $6 including tax. I love their pizza and they give you a giant slice. I've been eating there for at least 25 years-on Briarcliff Rd. just north of Clairmont.

Chicken Salad Sandwich from The Fresh Market...

These are becoming about as repetitive as Steez's chicken and broc posts, but I love this stuff. This time it is on a fresh kaiser roll with tomato and provolone.

Classic Waldorf Chicken Salad & Loaded Baked Potato Soup

Leave it to my wife...

Kid has been real sick, so my wife brought home dinner last night for all of us. It was my fault for saying, "I don't care what you get, I'm just hungry". What does she get? Shane's Sh!t Shack. Really. What does she get for me to eat? A BBQ Sandwich with slaw on it. Have I ever eaten slaw on a BBQ Sandwich? No. Will I again? No. As much as I bad mouth that place...especially when we just had Smoke Station a couple of nights ago and mocked Shane's while we were there...she still pulled this stunt. Not cool. This is by far some of the worst food and BBQ ever. I voted gross on this one.

BBQ Chicken and Fried Plantain at Cuzzin's in Charlotte Amalie

You know how sometimes things just taste better when you're on vacation? Well this was some of the best BBQ sauce I've ever had. The chicken was just drenched in the stuff. I think it helped that the chicken was smoked and must've been cooking for hours before I arrived. I tried to buy a bottle of the sauce, but they didn't sell. I asked the waitress what was the secret ingredient, and she said they just mix up a batch of regular BBQ sauce. So now I have to go back and try it again to see if it was really as good as I was thinking.

The fried plantain was real good too. I don't eat that often, but of course I had to order it for my last meal in the islands. Also got some fries. The meal was $12 and included 3 sides but that was enough food already so I didn't order a third side.

Also had a bushwhacker that was real tasty as well. I'm gonna have to mix up a blender full of those things sometime soon.

Mussels and sauteed spinach

We have mussels almost once a week now. They're around $2.50 a pound at the Dekalb Farmers Market. For $5 we can get enough to feed us dinner and lunch for my wife. These were made with white wine, garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Spinach had some EVOO, garlic and red pepper flakes as well.

My Irish Wife Makes Great German Food

Wife cooked a fabulous dinner tonight of pork schnitzel, red cabbage and warm potato salad. Accompanied by a nice Hefe-weizen. It was fantastic.

Lunch at home-Roast Pork Sandwich

Stuck at home for lunch today due to the weather. Had leftover pork roast in the refrigerator-but no Cuban bread and other necessary ingredients for a Cuban Sandwich. Made a sandwich anyway..sliced pork roast & sofrito, with some Wickles Pickles and Cape Cod chips.

Hall of Fame Now up!

I've been planning this for a while and we finally have a Hall of Fame! For now it's based on unique hits. That method will probably change in the future since having those on the HOF page will just drive more hits their way, but I thought it was good to showcase some of the more popular meals featured here. If you have a better idea email us at ijustatethis @ gmail.com.

Lunch at Amigo's....

This was actually eaten a couple of months ago, but never made it onto the blog. You can have your Moe's, your Willy's, your Barberitos, and what not. However, down here in Bluffton and Hilton Head we have a great local place called Amigo's. Amigo's is the one and only home of the Killer Fajita Burrito. You can get it with steak, chicken, or fish and black or pinto beans. It comes with rice, cheese, onions, peppers, tomatos...all cooked fajita style and shoved into this massive burrito. Below is the journey through the beast.

Chili Bison Burger from Ted's

Went to Ted's Montana Grill to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. This is my chili bison burger about 1/2 way through. I brutalized this thing. There's some roasted asparagus on the plate too.

Publix 6" Italian Sub

Yeah...it was good.

Crab Cake Sandwich and Onion Rings

Crab cake sandwich and onion rings ($24) from the Caneel Beach Bar & Grill. The sandwich was good, but the onion rings were fantastic. I wish I had ordered them more often while we were there, but I only ate lunch there twice during our stay.
